A big welcome to Mark Meyerson, who joined C3 at the end of 2020 as our Director of Managed Services. Mark brings an extensive background in managed services, cloud services, IT strategy, and cybersecurity strategy and has nearly 20 years in the IT industry overall. He’s a University of Delaware graduate, loves music, knocking out daily goals before 4 p.m. and refuses to feel guilty about guilty pleasures. We think he’s pretty cool…read on to learn more about what makes Mark tick!
There are many things I like about my position at C3, but I think the size of our company really speaks to some things that are especially satisfying. For one, my role intersects with everyone – I don’t think there is a single person I haven’t worked with yet. I also like that C3 is nimble and can respond quickly to our clients’ needs. We’re not held back by a ‘this is how we always do it’ attitude. I’m really excited that Jason Tierney and I are working on building an MSP that aligns with our clients’ needs, and not a one-size-fits-all design. This will be incredibly important as the new CMMC compliance standards bring unique needs for our clients and will set C3 apart from most other MSPs.
A perfect day is when I set and achieve my goals and tasks before 4 p.m. I love meeting with clients and discussing their technology goals and the options that are out there. And I enjoy helping the members of the C3 team: if I can mentor a tech on how to approach a complex issue and they get it, that is very satisfying.
I’ve only been here a short time, so I’m really proud of the fact that I’ve been able to earn the trust of our executive team and my clients.
I don’t feel guilty about the things I like: I wear them on my sleeve like a badge of honor. I love live music (all kinds), homebrewing, 2-stroke Scooters, road biking and restoring my Airstream. And of course, spending time with my family, after I’m done doing all the things I like.
Always make sure you have the right person for the right job. I come across talented people who are in positions that don’t cater to their innate skills. Also, I try to remember the Golden Rule: treat others how you would like to be treated. I think we sometimes forget how important empathy is in the tech field; listening to a client unload their frustrations and acknowledging them is essential. It builds trust and a bond that will last through the stormy weather.
Translating technical concepts to plain English.
End a phone call on a bad note.
Having the whole day free and a bike to go wherever I wanted.
*Mark told us that he didn’t have a favorite anything – that he liked LOTS of things and didn’t like getting in the habit of saying one was his favorite. Duly noted, Mark – and we like it!
