2020 Holiday Giving: C3 Supports Veterans and Helps Fight Food Insecurity

Like many best laid plans in 2020, our annual tradition of supporting Wreaths Across America has needed to evolve this year. While we’ll miss coming together to lay wreaths on thousands of veteran’s graves at Arlington National Cemetery, C3 has found new ways to support our Veteran’s community AND fill a need in our local community. We’re proud to make our holiday contributions on behalf of not only our team, but also our C3 clients, because without you, this support would not be possible.

This year, C3 Integrated Solutions will make a contribution to Charlie Mike, a content platform which shares uplifting and inspiring content and storytelling created for and about members of the Military community who are transitioning to the next stage of their lives. Charlie Mike helps Veterans, their families and caregivers worldwide to ‘Charlie Mike’ or to “Continue the Mission.” This, along with a donation to Wreaths Across America in honor of the Veteran family members of the C3 Executive Team, helps C3 continue our tradition of honoring and supporting our Military and Veteran community. With our contribution, C3 will help fund a future Charlie Mike podcast, which helps tell the stories of Veterans and their families and connects them to each other and to the larger community.

As we have all seen this year, the COVID pandemic has shed new light on vulnerable members of communities across the country, and exposed food insecurity in even the most affluent places. Arlington, Virginia – our hometown – is no different. This year C3 is supporting the Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC), an organization which distributes over 80,000 pounds of food to nearly 2,400 families in need each week in Arlington, VA. One-third of AFAC’s clients are children, and more than 15% are elderly; the C3 donation will provide fresh fruits and vegetables for 250. AFAC has been providing dignified access to nutritious supplemental groceries since 1988 to people who cannot afford to purchase enough food to meet their basic needs. Supplemental groceries from AFAC mean that families can remain in their homes, workers can stay on the job, children are ready to learn, and mothers and babies have the nutrition they need. This year has exposed an even greater need within our community, and C3 is proud to help support their important mission.
