Skype for Business has long been the core unified communications platform for Office 365. It included chat, screen-share, and online meetings with the ability add PSTN conferencing and calling.
In early 2018, Microsoft announced that Skype For Business Online, the service that is included in Office 365, is being replaced with Microsoft Teams. In August 2018, Microsoft announced that it had reached feature parity between Skype for Business and Teams.
Microsoft is currently offering automatic upgrades to clients and has discontinued provisioning Skype for Business to new clients with less than 500 users. This is part of the effort to accelerate adoption to the new platform.
C3 Integrated Solutions is currently deploying Teams across all our clients both current and new. To learn more about this transition, please contact us!
